Best Road Trip Apps

Road trips can be fun, and if you do them right (or even if they end up going completely wrong) you will remember them forever. However, there are a lot of things that you have to think about before you hit the road and while you are on the road you are not always prepared for every situation. You may run out of gas, not be able to find a bathroom for a long time or your children may turn against each other out of boredom. Luckily there are some great apps that will help you on the road, check them out below:

1. Gasbuddy

One of the things that you want to avoid on your road trip is looking out for gas stations all the time, and having to drive extra miles to find cheaper fuel in town you’ve never driven in before. That is where Gasbuddy comes in: it helps you find the cheapest fuel in any place you happen to be. It will definitely save you money, and it also has some cool features like you can win $250 worth of gas every week and you can earn points and awards for posting gas prices.

2. iExit

If you are driving on the interstate you may not know which upcoming exits you should take for what you need, be it gas, a rest area, a hotel or a coffee place. But iExit shows which upcoming exits have what you are looking for and tells you in real time where and when the next interstate exits are. Sometimes it takes you hours to find a gas station or a restroom in an unfamiliar area, but with this app you won’t have to lose precious time searching for that stuff anymore. iExit costs $0.99 and is available for Android and iOS.

3. Road Trip Scavenger Hunt

Road Trip Scavenger Hunt
This app is based on a classic road trip game that you probably remember from when you were a kid, where you had a list of objects (yellow truck, pigs, five red cars) and everyone would try to be the first to find them. This app is like that but than more advanced because you can also look for words on billboards or road signs. You can choose if you want to look for words or for objects or choose both with every new game. This game is great if you are traveling with little kids and want to give them something to do. $0.99 for iOS and Android.

4. Roadside America

You don’t have to wait to run into crazy things anymore, just search them with the app and never have a dull moment on your road trip again. $2.99 for iOS.

Hopefully these apps will contribute to a great trip, and help you out of some situations. If you have other apps for road trips that you find to be helpful, feel free to share them with us in the comments.
