How To Read Facebook Messages Without Them Knowing

Facebook is used every day worldwide to upload photos and send chat millions of chat messages from different people all over the world through the website. This without even including the messages sent from different mobile FB apps for different platforms.

Like every other medium, Facebook has pros and cons. Some things really annoy people, especially when it is about their privacy. One thing that seems to annoy a great deal of people is the ‘read receipt’ status that appears when in FB messages when a certain chat message has been read. The sender will see ‘seen’ plus the time in which the message was seen by the receiver at the bottom of the message.

Fortunately, there is now a simple browser extension available that disables that feature when using FB chat on the website.

This insubstantial browser extension is called Chat Undetected. It allows users to disable the ‘read receipt’ feature through messages on the Facebook site. In other words; it lets you chat undetected.

Follow the steps below if you wish to install the extension and be able to chat without detection:

This specific step-by-step process was done one the Google Chrome browser. Steps could be different on differents browsers:

Step 1: Go to the Chat Undetected download page and click on the ‘get chat undetected’ button on top of the page.
Step 2: The next part will involve recognizing the browser and providing a download page relevant to that particular browser. Click on the ‘download chat undetected button’ once more and wait for the file to finish downloading.
Step 3: In a newer Chrome browser, go to chrome://chrome/extensions/and drag the downloaded CRX file into the browser window. Leave it there to install.
Step 4: Now your messaging on FB should be private, and you shouldn’t be seeing the ‘read receipts’ popping up anymore while chatting.

This is only a small thing, because there are many other (privacy) issues on Facebook that could be solves. Still it is a great feature to protect your privacy while chatting. We wish there would be a similar thing for What’s App Messenger!achieve that.
