Last Wednesday Sony announced another addition to their Xperia smartphones. This camera phone is going to be very popular among photographers and art school students, as it supports a 20.7 megapixel camera, and it is capable of attaching better lenses.
This smartphone is going to be called the Xperia Z1, and it is needless to say that this is Sony’s attempt to win the race for the smartphone with the best camera, in which lots of popular Mobile companies such as Nokia and Samsung also partake.
There are some great camera phones out there, but this is something entirely new. Features include a high-resolution lens which is built into the camera and the option to control other lenses on the phone’s screen. The screen will be 5-inch. To use the lenses you do not need to get the Xperia Z1, because Sony announced that the lenses can also be used on different Android phones and even on the iPhone.
There is more to the Z1’s camera functions, such as a large image sensor and apps that allow users to stream videos directly to Facebook, search for information about what their view pointer is at, and store images online. The phone also comes with a waterproof aluminum case and a 2.2 gigahertz processor. The phone will go on sale later this month, and we’re really curious. It sounds very promising, because a phone that supports multiple camera lenses is something unique, and if it is true what Sony says, and the lenses can be used on other Android phones and the iPhone as well, it could be something that a lot of people are going to use, and a whole new thing for smartphone companies to compete over.
